About this property
Six Senses built five small lodges in Bhutan and asks guests to move between them; the Thimphu one sits high on the valley side at Kabesa, north of the capital, with the city spread out below and the ridges standing beyond it. The drive up from town takes only a few minutes and gains a great deal of quiet.
Like the rest of the circuit it is deliberately small, contemporary rather than traditional in feel, and arranged around the view. It works as the opening night of a Six Senses itinerary — an easy transfer up from Paro airport — or as a base for two or three days in the capital, which holds more than a single afternoon allows.
Why we like it
- One of five Six Senses lodges across western and central Bhutan
- High on the valley side at Kabesa, north of Thimphu
- An easy transfer from Paro airport for a first night
