About this property
Almost every visit to Bhutan begins and ends in Paro. The country’s only international airport is here, on a broad valley floor at around 2,200 metres, with the Paro Chhu running through it and the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong at the head of the valley. The Taktsang trailhead — the Tiger’s Nest — is a short drive up the same road.
This is a smaller valley property rather than one of the landmark hotels: the sort of place we use for a first night when guests land in the afternoon and want to sleep off the flight, or for a last night before an early departure. Expect a simple, comfortable room in a quiet spot rather than a resort in its own right.
Why we like it
- In the Paro valley, within easy reach of the international airport
- A short drive from the Tiger’s Nest trailhead
