About this property
Le Méridien Thimphu is the most central of the capital’s international hotels, on Chorten Lam a few minutes from Norzin Lam and the National Memorial Chorten. It is the choice for travellers who want a familiar five-star standard — a heated indoor pool, a proper gym, a spa, twenty-four-hour room service — at the start or end of a trip.
The building borrows Bhutanese motifs in its window frames and painted detailing but is otherwise contemporary, with a glass-fronted lobby bar and a restaurant that runs both an international menu and a good Bhutanese à la carte. Rooms are generous by Thimphu standards and all have air conditioning and heating.
Everything in central Thimphu is within a short walk or a five-minute drive: the weekend market by the river, the Textile Museum, Tashichho Dzong at the north end of town, and the craft shops along Norzin Lam. Paro International Airport is about an hour away by road.
