About this property
Haa is the quietest of the western valleys — a narrow, high, pine-dark trough that only opened to visitors in 2002 and still sees a fraction of the traffic Paro does. The road in climbs over the Chele La, one of the highest motorable passes in the country, and drops into a valley of small hamlets, the twin Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo temples, and a river running the length of it.
Accommodation in Haa is modest across the board, and this is a valley hotel in that tradition — a base for walking, for the Haa Summer Festival in July, or for breaking the loop between Paro and the south. Come for the setting rather than the facilities.
Why we like it
- In the Haa valley, reached over the Chele La from Paro
- A quiet western district that only opened to visitors in 2002
