About this property
Gaselo lies in the farming country of Wangdue Phodrang, off the standard circuit, in the sort of terraced, village-scattered landscape most visitors only ever see through a car window. Staying here means staying among working fields rather than in a town, with the day shaped by what is happening in them.
The lodge is a small, simple place, and that is rather the point of it. It suits travellers who want a night in rural Bhutan somewhere in the middle of a western itinerary, and who are happy to trade hotel polish for the sound of nothing much after dark. Wangdue Phodrang, its dzong and the main east–west highway are all within reach by road.
